Instructions:
1. Trace flip flop pattern 2 times each onto chipboard and cut out.
2. Punch holes on one set of flip flops with micro punch.
3. Glue set of flip flops with holes to other set of flip flops, Trim any
uneven edges then punch holes all the way through, using top layer as a pattern
(it’s too thick to punch through both layers at the
same time).
4. Using White Frost pigment pad, dab at least two coats of ink onto flip
flops (top and sides). Allow to dry completely.
5. Stamp flowers (from Summer Vibe set) onto flip flops with Yellow Ochre
and allow to dry completely.
6. Apply Glossy Accents to top of stamped flip flops, making sure to leave
punched holes open. Allow to dry for several hours.
7. Cut 5½ x 5½” frame from White cardstock with a 2¾” square
opening.
8. Dab outside edges of frame and inside opening with Pink ink (you may need
to use small applicator to get ink on inside corners of opening).
9. Stamp Hibiscus flowers (Summer Vibe) in upper left corner of frame using
Pink and Lime cats eye pads (the tip on the cat’s eye pad allows you
to dab both colors directly onto the stamp).
10. Stamp words (Travel Time) around lower right corners of frame using Pink
ink.
11. Glue three rhinestones to the left of the words with Gem-Tac.
12. Apply foam tape to back of cardstock frame, covering entire back to avoid
buckling of frame.
13. Apply Glossy Accents over flowers and leaves – allow to dry for
several hours.
14. Adhere a 6 x 12” piece of Jungle Fever paper to same size White
cardstock. Fold in ½ for a 6” square card.
15. Cut 5 ¾” square piece of sand print paper and adhere to above
card.
16. Adhere decorated frame to the above two layers.
17. For each flip flop cut two 12” pieces of 24 gauge Rose wire.
18. Fold wire pieces in half and wrap around a post. Twist all 4 pieces together
for ½” then split the four wires into two and two. Twist each
of these sets together for 2”. Remove from post & set aside.
19. To make each flower for flip flop, set jewelry jig as per diagram. Using
26 gauge Rose wire, leave a 2” tail and make figure 8’s around
pegs – you will need to do two figure 8’s on each set of pegs,
giving you 8 petals for your flower. Using the beginning 2” tail and
your ending tail, twist this excess wire over and under center of flower a
few times to secure it before removing wire from pegs (do not cut tails).
20. After removing from pegs, spread petals to form flower and flatten center
with nylon jaw pliers.
21. Using remaining tails, wire each flower to intersection of twisted wire
(step #18). Once secure, twist excess tail around the first 1/8” portion
of the 4 twisted wire section.
22. Insert wire into appropriate holes, trim wire on back, untwist and secure
flat with tape.
23. Glue flip flops to opening of card.
24. Glue Rhinestone to center of each flower with Gem-Tac.
