Instructions:
1. Cut a strip of Tan cardstock the width of your frame and tear top
edge to desired curve. Lay this on the frame and draw a pencil line where
this will be.
2. Paint a thick layer of tacky glue onto torn cardstock and sprinkle
with sand. While glue is still wet, apply more glue generously on the
back of shells and glue them to sandy paper. Set aside to dry.
3.
Keeping wire on the spool, make a sharp bend with round
nose pliers every 3½” (the number of bends will be determined by your
frame size; for a 7” frame I did 6 bends.
4. Pinch the wire together tightly at each bend and form a swirl using
the doubled wire for each wave.
5. Once all your swirls are formed,
follow the “wave” diagram
below and form the wire into that shape.
6. To paint the frame I mixed colors to match the wire and the photo
I was using. For the sky I mixed white/blue. For the waves I mixed white/blue/
green.
7. Paint the front and sides of the frame right up to the sand line with
the sky color.
8. Lay your wire waves just above where the sand piece will be glued
on the frame and glue the swirls with metal glue. I did this 2 at a time
and held them down for a couple of minutes until each group was dry.
9.
Paint the “wave” color inside wire waves to just below
the “sand” line on the front and sides. Allow to dry.
10. With Tacky Glue, glue the sandy cardstock to the frame, lining up
edges. Paint additional glue around the sides of the frame to match the
sand areas and sprinkle with additional sand.
11. Once the paint
is dry, stamp “BEACH” with
chalk ink on the top of the frame.
12. When stamped letters are dry, enhance with Glossy Accents
13.
Fill in waves with Glossy accents & sprinkle
with micro beads.
14. Stamp Mica Tile with Royal Blue Pigment ink and emboss with clear
powder.
15. Glue mica piece to frame in one corner (this will be hidden by the
decorative metal piece) and allow to dry.
16. Glue metal embellishment on tile to hide the glue.
17. Insert photo into frame.
