Making Jump Rings:
Step 1. Screw the smallest metal mandrel onto the Wire Worker. Using the 18 gauge wire still on the spool, place the end of the wire into one of the wire holes on the Wire Worker. Wrap the wire around the mandrel by rotating the handle of the Wire Worker away from you, creating a tight coil. Wrap the wire until you have wound about a 3” coil. Remove the wire from the Worker and trim the excess wire from both ends.
Step 2. Starting at one end of the coiled wire, use the wire cutters and cut along the top of the coil, creating small circles of wire.
Step 3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 to create more small jump rings. You will need 26 small jump rings for every rosette and extra for the chain part of the necklace. Close all small jump rings using the jump ring opener and round nose pliers.
Step 4. Remove the small metal mandrel from the Wire Worker and attach the round plastic mandrel. Using the 16 gauge wire, place the end of the wire into one of the wire holes on the Wire Worker. Wrap the wire around the mandrel by rotating the handle of the Wire Worker away from you, creating a tight coil. Wrap the wire until you have wound about a 3” coil. Remove the wire from the Worker and trim the excess wire from both ends.
Step 5. Starting at one end of the coiled wire, use the wire cutters and cut along the top of the coil, creating larger circles of wire.
Step 6. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 to create more large jump rings. You will need 7 large jump rings for every rosette and extra for the chain part of the necklace. Leave the larger jump rings open for now.
Making Rosettes:
Step 1. Make the center section by picking up one large ring, and thread 12 small rings onto it (see image 1). Close the large ring.
Step 2. To make the first pedal section, pick up a large open ring and thread 6 small rings onto it. Now thread the large open ring through 2 of the small rings on the center section (see image 2). Close the large ring. This will be petal 1.
Step 3. To make the next pedal section, pick up a large open ring and thread 2 small rings onto it. Now thread it through the next 2 small rings on the center section and through 2 of the small rings on petal 1 (see image 3). Close the large ring. This completes petal 2.
Step 4. Continue the pattern by repeating the previous step to complete petal 3. For petal 4, add 4 small rings to a large ring. Leave two of them lose to attach to the next rosette, as you did with petal 1 (see image 4). Repeat step #3 again to complete petal 5 of the pattern.
Step 5. Finish the rosette by taking a large ring and threading in through 2 small rings on petal 5, the two on the center section and 2 on petal 1 (see image 5). Close the large ring to complete the rosette.
Step 6. To make more rosettes, repeat step 1 through 5, remembering to thread petal 1 of each rosette through the extra jump rings of the previous rosette's petal 4. Make enough rosettes for desired lengths, leaving a few inches in the back for the chain links.
Step 7. To complete the necklace, take a large ring and thread two small rings onto it. Now thread it through the extra jump rings on one of the end rosettes. Close the large ring. Repeat this till you have the desired length of chain. Repeat on the other end rosette. Attach the necklace clasp to one end of the chain.
