Project #1101
Crusin Souvenir Box

Artistic Wire™
Copper Swirls Necklace & Pendant

design by Lauren Johnston

Project Sheet 1090

Instructions:

Step 1.
Using 18 gauge Natural wire, form coils, swirls and curls to fit into pendant. Fit as tightly as possible, but there is no need to glue in place.

Step 2. Fill pendant with thick embossing powder and place on baking sheet in oven (I prefer toaster oven) and melt according to instructions (approx 250 degrees). If necessary, prop up one side with cardboard so it lies flush. It may be necessary to add additional powder and re-melt, as it will sink a bit.

Step 3. Cut 1” pieces of chain for main body of necklace (as many as you desire).

Step 4. For swirls, cut 2” pieces of 20 gauge Natural wire. For each swirl, thread two pieces of 1” chain into center and form opposing swirls. Move the chain to the outside of the swirls and continue process until desired length is achieved.

Step 5. Add additional solid chain to form rest of necklace.

Step 6. Add lobster claw and jump rings to end of necklace.
