Project Sheet 1090

Instructions:
Making Necklace Chain:
Step 1. Using 20 gauge wire, cut approximately thirty 1-1/4” lengths of wire.

Step 2. Using wire lengths cut in Step 1, make links for necklace by making an eye loop on one end. Place one size 7 bead then a size 5/0 bead on wire. Close link by creating another eye loop on the end. See diagram #1.

Step 3. Start making another link and attach the first eye loop to the previous link that was created. Continue this step with approximately 15 links to create first half of the necklace chain. Check the length of the chain and adjust if necessary. Repeat to make the second half of the necklace chain. Attach the lobster claw clasp to the end of one length of chain, then link the clasp to the other length.

Creating Pendants & Completing Pieces
Step 1. Cut three 3” lengths of 18 gauge wire. Using diagram #2, create this shape with all three of the cut lengths.

Step 2. Cut three 6-1/4” lengths of 18 gauge wire. Use the three cut lengths to create the shape in diagram #3. Trim end if needed with wire cutters.

Step 3. Cut five 2-3/4” lengths of 18 gauge wire. Using diagram #4, create an eye loop then place one size 7, a size 5/0, and another size 7 bead. Finish dangle by creating a spiral on the other end of the wire length. Once all five dangles are complete, attach the links to the loops from the shape created in the previous step. Use the nylon jaw pliers to flatten spirals so when the pendant is hanging, the spirals are facing flat toward the front.

Step 4. Cut three 2” lengths of 18 gauge wire and form an open eye loop on one end. Attach this eye loop to the starting loop of the shape formed in Step 2. Add beads to the wire length to fill the gap to the end loop of the shape. Trim wire leaving enough of a tail form an eye loop that you will attach to the end loop of this shape. Repeat to form the earrings. To complete the pendant & earrings make six more links as you did to create the necklace chain. Use these links to connect the upper and lower shapes of the pendant. (see photo)

Step 5. To complete necklace and earrings, attach one pendant to the open ends of the necklace chain then attach remaining pendants to earring posts.
